Sealed Transit Case Solutions
Enabling Electronics Survivability
in Tactical Rackmount Enclosures
SprayCool® transit case solutions enable a sealed environment for next generation transit cases, allowing commercial grade 19” rack mount products to operate safely in the harshest environments. The innovative two phase liquid cooling system keeps the critical components operating below their specification limits even in 50˚C ambient conditions, by removing the heat from the air path inside the hardware so that downstream components get cooler air. The end result is power efficient, reliable operation of low cost commercial electronics anywhere the warfighter needs them, and in a smaller, lighter, less power-hungry platform than any other on the market.
Features
- High Performance: 450W power for cooling, 2500W of cooling capacity
- Flexible: wide range of OEM solutions, compatible with composite and aluminum cases
- Rugged: designed to meet MIL-STD-810
Available in 1000 – 2500 Watt kits. The total power draw of the cooling system is only 450W, and can handle a total payload of 2500W in the case. SprayCool-enabled transit cases are smaller, lighter and more energy efficient, which equates to a mobile computing cabinet that is convenient to install, easier to transport, and requires less cooling and power infrastructure to operate. The end result is the enhanced ability to position advanced computing power at the front edge of the battlefield.
Capabilities/Applications
- Enables Lighter overall weight - meets payload requirements of an armored HMMWV
- Commercial servers and communications gear deployed in hostile environments
- Remote network node in unmanned environments
- Enables HMMWV applications without Rigid Wall Shelter
- Halt and on-the-move operation using vehicle power
- Tent applications without HVAC
- Unsheltered Navy applications utilizing COTS electronics
Data Rack Solutions
The value of SprayCool in a 19” rack is very simple: SprayCool racks enable customers to drastically increase performance density while improving power efficiency leading to a reduction in total cost of ownership.
Technology
SprayCool Racks perform three primary functions in cooling: Acquire heat from source, transport the heat away from source and reject the heat. Heat acquisition is accomplished by spraying a fine mist of non-conductive and non-corrosive coolant indirectly onto electronic packages (does not make contact with electronics). The coolant vaporizes carrying heat away from the packages.
Transport occurs when the coolant vapor exits and is carried by manifolds and tubing to a heat exchanger. SprayCool components are connected by drip-less "quick disconnect" fluid connectors for ease of maintenance or reconfiguration.
Heat rejection is accomplished via a heat exchanger that rejects the thermal load to ambient air or platform fluid. Fluid options range from PAO, condenser water, chiller water to EGW.
With optimized standard components performing the essential functions of cooling
SprayCool Racks achieve reductions in lifecycle costs, size, weight, and power.
